Aiden Hegarty hit Jestin Morrow for a 60-yard touchdown pass with 6 minutes remaining in the game to lead Hilton Head Island over Orangeburg-Wilkinson 17-13 and keep the Seahawks (8-0, 3-0 8-AAA) perfect in their best start since 1987.
After the score, the defense forced a three-and-out and a four-and-out over the next two series to preserve the win.
"Our kids faced a million different types of adversity and kept grinding," Seahawks head football coach B.J. Payne said. "It's a resilient group of kids who don't quit."
Hilton Head's Tyler Hamilton sprained his ankle in the first quarter and didn't return until the third quarter.

Hegarty got the Seahawks' first score on a 40-yard field goal, and they trailed 7-3 at the half.
P.J. Franklin's 25-yard scoring run with 4 minutes left in the third quarter cut the deficit to 13-10.
Orangeburg-Wilkinson fell to 3-6, 1-2.
