Hilton Head Island's Tyler Hamilton named IPBG Player of the Week for Week 5
Hilton Head Island High School running back/wide receiver Tyler Hamilton is the Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette High School Football Player of the Week for Week 5.
Hamilton carried the ball 18 times for 76 yards and three touchdowns and caught five passes for 108 yards in the Seahawks' 28-9 win over rival in the annual Bridge Bowl game.
Hamilton won the online fan vote with 60.4 percent of the votes.
Battery Creek's Tyrone Dilbert was second in the voting with 20.2 percent of the vote, and Beaufort High's Wyatt Sherpensky was third with 19.4 percent.
Fans cast 6,751 votes this week. The fan voting accounts for one-third of the voting.
Members of the Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette sports staff hold the other two votes.
