Prep roundup, Sept. 29: Thomas Heyward Academy's beat goes on in volleyball
Thomas Heyward Academy swept Hilton Head Prep, 3-0, on Monday to stay perfect and run it's record to 16-0, 9-0 in SCISAA Region 5-AA.
The Rebels won 25-17, 25-10, 25-15.
Key players were Madison Cooler (15 kills, eight digs), Jamie Davis (28 digs) and Haylee Wade (four kills, five digs, 3 aces).
JV: Thomas Heyward Academy 2, Hilton Head Prep 0 (25-14, 15-11).
Hilton Head Christian Academy 3, Bible Baptist 0: The Eagles won 25-22, 25-20, 25-17 to improve to 14-2.
Key players included Logan Cherry (13 kills, eight digs), Sydney DeSimone (eight kills, 21 digs, four aces), Andi Jacobs (seven kills), Lauryn Qualls (five kills, 12 digs), Lindsey Gillis (eight digs), Lauren Poppy (six digs) and Lilly Strickland (three aces, two kills, 29 assists).
The Eagles' next match is 4 p.m. Friday vs Palmetto Christian at home.
Bluffton 2, Fort Dorchester 0; Bluffton 2, Summerville 0: The Bobcats beat Fort Dorchester 25-5, 25-13 and Summerville 25-9, 25-18 to remain unbeaten in Region 8-AAAA. The Bobcats (27-11-3, 3-0) host Beaufort at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
Beaufort 2, Berkeley 1; Hanahan 2, Beaufort 0: The Eagles (7-7, 3-4 8-AAA) defeated Berkeley 25-21, 21-25, 25-20 and lost to Hanahan 25-12, 25-13.
Leading the Lady Eagles were Kaylie Richardson (seven kills, two solo blocks), Imari Smalls (four kills) and Hailey Lamar (four kills).
The Eagles play at Bluffton at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.
