Prep roundup, Sept. 25: Thomas Heyward Academy volleyball improves to 15-0
Thomas Heyward Academy's volleyball team improved to 15-0, 8-0 in the region, with a 3-0 victory over St. Andrew's on Thursday.
The Rebels, who won by set scores of 25-11, 25-11, 25-11, were led by Madison Cooler (20 kills, 14 digs, 4 aces) and Jamie Davis (22 assists).
Thomas Heyward Academy will play at 6 p.m. Monday at Hilton Head Prep.
Hilton Head Christian 3, Hilton Head Prep 0: The Eagles swept the Dolphins 25-5, 25-19, 25-23 to improve to 12-2 on the season.
For HHCA, Logan Cherry led the way with 14 kills, three block kills, two aces and six digs.
Other top contributors for the Eagles were Sydney DeSimone (two kills, eight aces, 12 digs), Lilly Strickland (three kills, three aces, nine digs, 21 assists), Lauryn Qualls (three kills, seven digs), Lindsey Gillis (two kills, six digs), Josie Frasier (seven kills, four digs) and Lauren Poppy (11 digs).
Battery Creek 2, Allendale-Fairfax 0: The Dolphins won 25-18, 25-18.
Standouts for the Dolphins included Michaux Gee (six aces), Dazanni Hinton (two kills), Taquasha Lampkin (three blocks), Emily Crosby (three aces) and Mia Debardelaben (two kills).
