Hilton Head Prep captures three SCISA state championships
Hilton Head Prep won three SC Independent Schools Association’s state championships this weekend.
The Dolphin boys and girls won the SCISA Class A/2A/3A swimming championships held at the North Charleston Aquatic Center.
HHP also won the SCISA Class 3A girls tennis championship held at Palmetto Tennis Center.
In swimming Hilton Head Prep girls finished with a 244, 20 points better than Spartanburg Day. The boys finished with a 173. Spartanburg Day was second with 147. Heritage Academy was third with a 146.
Hilton Head Christian girls finished third in the SCISA 4A championship and the boys were eighth.
In the girls’ Class A/2A/3A championship, HHP’s Gia Blok won the 200 and 500 freestyle while Samantha Fenstermaker won the 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly. Isabel Lossada won the 100 backstroke and was second in the 200 individual medley. Halle Robinson won the 100 breaststroke and was second in the 100 freestyle.
Piper Lossada was second in the 100 breaststroke and Caroline Litchfield third in the 500 freestyle.
HHP girls won the 200 and 400 freestyle relays and 200 individual medley relay.
In the boys’ Class A/2A/3A championship, HHP’s Peter Fenstermaker won the 200 individual medley and 100 breaststroke. Cass Tokarski won the 200 freestyle and was second in 500 freestyle.
Kellen Tokarsk was second in the 100 backstroke and third in the 100 butterfly. The Dolphins won the 400 freestyle relay and were second in the individual medley relay.
Heritage Academy’s Brinson Brosman was third in the 100 backstroke. Heritage’s Alex Toma was third in the 100 freestyle. Henry Johns was third in the 500 freestyle and the 200 freestyle. Ethan Bostjancic was third in the 100 breaststroke. The boys 400 freestyle relay of Brosman, Bostjancic, Johns, and Toma was third.
In SCISA 4A girls, Hilton Head Christian’s Tabi Musser won the 500 freestyle and was third in the 100 butterfly. Addi Rogers was third in the 100 freestyle and the Eagles won the 200 freestyle relay.
In SCISA 4A boys, HHCA’s Levi Eidson was second in the 200 freestyle and third in 100 freestyle.
SCISA Girls Tennis
Hilton Head Prep defeated Spartanburg Day to extend its championship streak.
It was the Dolphins’ fourth straight state championship. HHP has won a state title in each of the four years since SCISA went to four classifications in 2022.
SCHSL Swimming Championships
The SC High School League held its swimming championships on Oct. 9-11 at the University of South Carolina.
Hilton Head Island was sixth in Class Girls 4A girls, Beaufort 11th and May River 14th.
HHI’s Olivia Johnson was second in the 200 freestyle and third in the 500 freestyle. Cadence Smith was third in the 100 butterfly. HHI was second in the 400 freestyle relay and third in the 200 freestyle relay.
Beaufort finished sixth in Class 4A boys while Hilton Head Island was eighth, Bluffton 10th and May River 12th.
HHI’s Wes Lucas was third in the 100 backstroke.
SCISA Girls Golf Championship
Hilton Head Prep was the runner-up at the 2025 SCISA girls golf championship held Oct. 6-7 at Orangeburg Country Club.
The Dolphins finished with a 707. Trinity Collegiate won the title with a 685. John Paul II was in sixth and Hilton Head Christian was ninth.
HHP’s Lexi Palazzo and Abigail Kell and JPII’s Sofie Hannagan earned all-state honors. Palazzo finished with a 144, two shots behind Spartanburg Day’s Poppy Dawson. Hannigan finished with a 154 and Kell had a 156. The top eight finishers were all-state.
