Lowcountry teams dominate 2025 SCISA boys golf championships
Lowcountry teams dominated the SC Independent Schools boys golf state championships this week.
Hilton Head Christian, Hilton Head Prep and Heritage Academy all won state titles at the Hackler Course on Tuesday. HHCA claimed the SCISA 4A title while Prep won the 3A crown and Heritage in Class A.
It was Hilton Head Prep’s second straight championship while Heritage won for the third straight season.
Hilton Head Christian won for the second time in the last three years but first time at the 4A level. The Eagles shot a 283 in the second round Tuesday to finish with a team score of 575 to win by 16 shots over defending champion Trinity Collegiate.
John Paul II finished seven with a score of 620.
HHCA’s Sage Bradshaw, a College of Charleston commit, shot a 9-under 135 to win the individual championship by three shots over Heathwood Hall’s Connor Wolfe. It was his second title in the last three years. West Virginia signee Gabe Schmitz shot a 143 to finish fifth and earn all-state honors, which went to the top eight golfers and ties. JP Reed (150) and Hayes Etheridge (150) tied for ninth.
Hilton Head Prep won the 3A title by 17 shots over Spartanburg Day. The Dolphins finished with a two-day score of 597, including shooting a 290 in the second round. Maryland signee Cade Kriscunas won the individual title by shooting a 139.
Heritage Academy won the Class A title by 55 shots after shooting a 606 for the two days. Mead Hall was second. College of Charleston signee Michael Gavin won the individual title following his 135. It was Gavin’s third straight individual championship.
Gage Fisher and Brody Hirt each shot 153 for Heritage.
