Hilton Head Island RB voted Island Packet’s high school football Player of the Week

The votes are in, and Hilton Head Island running back Troy Timko wins the vote for The Island Packet’s High School Football Player of the Week.

The nominees are listed below. Please note that these polls are not scientific and are meant to be just for fun. Congrats to all the nominees.

This Week’s Nominees

Kres Langhals, RB, Hilton Head Christian: Sophomore had 54 rushing yards, two touchdowns, was 3-of-3 passing for 35 yards and also caught a 15-yard TD in a win over Hilton Head Prep.

Aedan McCarthy, QB, Bluffton: Junior was 16 of 23 passing for 227 yards and three touchdowns, and also carried it 10 times for 62 yards in a win over May River.

Brad Lowery, LB, May River: Senior had 10 tackles (two for loss) and a sack in the loss to Hilton Head Island.

Owen Palazzo, LB, Thomas Heyward: Sophomore had six tackles (two for loss), two sacks, a pass break-up and two quarterback hurries in a win over Beaufort Academy.

Dietrich Shuford, QB, Beaufort Academy: Senior was 14 of 23 passing for 172 yards, two touchdowns and also rushed 15 times for 186 and a score in a loss to Thomas Heyward.

Troy Timko, RB, Hilton Head Island: Senior carried it 21 times for 136 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Beaufort.
