May River running back voted Island Packet’s high school football player of week

The votes are in, and May River running back Andrew Johnson wins the vote for The Island Packet’s High School Football Player of the Week.

Thanks to all who voted. A new poll will be up on Monday afternoon.

The nominees are listed below. Please note that these polls are not scientific and are meant to be just for fun. Congrats to all the nominees.

This week’s nominees

Andrew Johnson, RB, May River: Junior running back carried it 22 times for 131 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Brookland-Cayce.

Bryant Jolley, RB, John Paul II: Senior carried it 21 times for 156 yards and a TD in a loss to Hilton Head Christian.

Aedan McCarthy, QB, Bluffton: Junior was 14-of-30 passing for 303 yards and three touchdowns and also carried it four times for 43 yards and a TD in a loss to Hampton County.

Reid McCollum, QB, Hilton Head Christian: Junior was 15-of-22 passing for 255 yards, four touchdowns and carried it 15 times for 131 yards and two scores in a win over John Paul II.

Jace Paulk, WR/S, Beaufort Academy: Junior caught two passes for 102 yards and a touchdown, had six tackles and an interception in a win over Lee Academy.
