HHI’s Carson Haines voted Island Packet’s high school football player of week
The votes are in, and Hilton Head Island’s Carson Haines wins the vote for The Island Packet’s High School Football Player of the Week.

The nominees are listed below. Please note that these polls are not scientific and are meant to be just for fun. Congrats to all the nominees.
Player of the Week nominees
Isaiah Bastian, DL, Bluffton: Senior had 12 tackles, four for loss and two sacks, in game against Savannah Country Day (Ga.).
Jermon Bowers, QB, Whale Branch: Junior was 6-of-10 passing for 76 yards, carried it 21 times for 102 yards and two scores in win over Ridgeland.
Carson Haines, WR/CB, Hilton Head Island: Senior caught six passes for 159 yards and a TD and also had a 34-yard touchdown run in the win against Aiken.
Sean Mitchell, RB, May River: Junior running back carried it 17 times for 150 yards and a touchdown in a win over Lake City.
Nicholas Robinson, RB/LB, Thomas Heyward: Senior carried it 15 times for 118 yards, three touchdowns and also caught a TD pass in a win over Orangeburg Prep.
Dietrich Shuford, QB/DB, Beaufort Academy: Senior was 11-of-16 passing for 174 yards, carried it 20 times for 164 yards in win over Patrick Henry.
Sebastian Slusne, OL/DE, John Paul II: Senior had eight tackles, three for loss and two sacks in a loss against Bethesda (Ga.).
Wenson “MJ” Smith, RB, Ridgeland: Senior carried it 17 times for 191 yards and a TD in a loss to Whale Branch.
