Champs again! Hilton Head Prep girls dominate way to another SCISA golf championship

The Hilton Head Prep girls golf team turned in another dominating performance to win another SCISA state championship on Tuesday.

The Dolphins shot a two-day total of 695 to win by 26 shots over Porter-Gaud at the Orangeburg Country Club.

It is the fifth straight championship for Hilton Head Prep, which entered the second round with a 21-shot lead.

Trinity Collegiate (734) was third, Laurence Manning (815) fourth and Wilson Hall (820) came in fifth.

HHP’s Bridget Wilkie won her third straight individual championship. Wilkie shot a 7-under 137 to win by 16 strokes over Trinity Collegiate’s Lina Polteraits.

Wilkie shot a 2-under 70 in the final round and finished her day with three straight birdies. She had 12 birdies in the two days of the tournament.

The rest of top-five, which made all-state, are Laurence Manning’s Summer Carey (154), Spartanburg Day’s Arley Jennings (165), Porter-Gaud’s Lilia Wilbourne (170) and Trinity Collegiate’s Kinsley Stanley (170)

John Paul II’s Sofie Hannagan (179) was 12th.

Behind Wilkie for Hilton Head Prep, Abigail Kell (180) tied for 13th, Alex Palazzo (187) was tied 17th and Bella Johnson (191) was 19th.
