Two Lowcountry boys golf teams win SCISA state championships

Two Lowcountry boys golf teams captured SCISA state championships Tuesday.

Hilton Head Christian won he Class 3A championship while Heritage Academy won the Class A title at Coastal Carolina’s Hackler Course in Conway.

It was HHCA’s second championship in last three years. The Eagles won the 2A title in 2021. Hilton Head Christian won the tournament by two shots over Hilton Head Prep.

Hilton Head Christian finished with a team score of 581 over the two days.

HHCA’s Sage Bradshaw was the medalist after shooting back-to-back rounds of 68 to finish at 8-under par. Bradshaw edge teammate Gabe Schmitz by one shot. JP Reed shot a 149 and Chris Nguyen had a 161, Phillip Court a 166.

It was the second straight year HHP finished second in the state tournament. The Dolphins finished three shots back of Trinity Collegiate last year.

Jack Crosoure led HHP with a 144 followed by Jeep Patrick (145), Tag Graziano (147) and Cade Kriscunas (149).

John Paul II finished seventh in the tournament. Dylan Folscraft led the Warriors with a 160.

Heritage Academy won its first state championship after shooting a 612 over the two-day event to win by 36 shots over Cambridge Academy. HA’s Michael Gavin shot a 2-over 147 to win medalist honors.

Trinity Collegiate won the Class 4A championship and Mead Hall won the Class 2A crown.
