Hilton Head Christian, Thomas Heyward baseball pick up blowout victories

Daniel Harrington and Eli Minton each homered as Hilton Head Christian defeated Memorial Day, 22-3, on Tuesday in high school baseball action.

Harrington was 4-for-4 with five RBI while Minton was 3-for-3 with five RBI. Minton picked up the win, giving up one earned run, two hits over four innings.

Camden Toomer was 2-for-4 with 3 RBI and Floyd Hargrove also had 2 RBI.

Thomas Heyward 12, John Paul II 3

Louie Smith had three hits and four RBI, and Fulton Wade had three hits and three RBI in the win for the Rebels.

Smith struck out nine in five innings to pick up the win.

Peter Hughes had a two-run triple for John Paul II.

Boys Soccer

Beaufort Academy 1, John Paul II 0

Elijah Fess scored the game’s only goal and Kevin Rogers recorded a shutout in goal.

Girls Soccer

John Paul II 3, Beaufort Academy 0

Katie Leigh Floyd, Renee Delgado and Gin White each scored in the Warriors’ win over the Eagles.

Abby Quinty and Tkai Devore combined for the shutout in goal.

Boys Golf

Beaufort Academy wins six-team match

Beaufort Academy boys golf team won a six-team match by eight shots Tuesday at Parris Island.

The Eagles finished with a 183, eight shots better than Hilton Head Christian. Holy Trinity was third followed by Colleton Prep (211), Lowcountry Leadership (215) and Bridges Prep (245).

Beaufort Academy’s Cal Harvey was medalist with a 40 and teammate Jack Carter Worrell was a shot back. HHCA’s Ethan Ducharme and Hayes Etheridge each shot 43s.
