Ridgeland-Hardeeville boys knock off ranked foe, John Paul II girls win thriller

Rashard Baker scored 22 points and Ridgeland-Hardeeville knocked off No. 3 ranked Wade Hampton, 69-50, on Tuesday in boys high school basketball.

Brandon Howard added 15 points and Shaleaf Cherry scored 12.

The Jaguars led 43-14 at halftime.

Hilton Head Prep 68, Coastal Hurricanes 37

Tyrone Calloway finished with 19 points and Stone McDonald scored 12 points for HHP.

Freshman Kane Eanes had 13 points off the bench. HiltonHead Prep plays Christian Academy in a big matchup at home on Friday.

Bethesda Academy 61, Hilton Head Christian 38

Isaiah Anderson scored 10 points and Jace Blackshear had eight in HHCA’s loss.

May River 58, Battery Creek 37

Harry Cash had 13 points and Gavin Blocker scored 11 in May River’s region win.

John Paul II 54, Beaufort Academy 52

Tkai Devore hit two free throws with 2.2 seconds left to give the Warriors a thrilling victory.

Devore finished with 34 points, 17 rebounds, five assists and five blocks. Abby Quinty added 16 points and eight rebounds for the Warriors.

Amelia Huebel led Beaufort Academy with 21 points Mike’Ala Washington had 13 and EmilyAnn Heirs 11.

May River 56, Battery Creek 20

Thirteen different players scored in May River’s win over Battery Creek.

Emma Peluso and Chyna Sneed led the way with nine points each. Gracyn Drury had eight. May River led 29-6 at halftime.

Coastal Hurricanes 26, Hilton Head Prep 25

Ella Clark scored seven points for Hilton Head Prep in the loss to Coastal.

Kierstin Clark and Haylee Hopman each added six.
