Roundup: Blitz Bowl set for Saturday. John Paul II, HHCA girls notch close wins
Eighty of the top seniors from the Lowcountry and Savannah area will do battle Saturday in the third annual Blitz Border Bowl.
The game, presented by WSAV and the Savannah Morning News, will be held at Memorial Stadium with kickoff set for 12:30 p.m. The game will be televised on WSAV.
Whale Branch’s Jerry Hatcher will coach Team Lowcountry and Team Coastal Empire is led by Jenkins’ Jason Cameron.

Hilton Head Prep 70, Memorial Day 53
The Dolphins improved to 9-3 with a home win over Memorial Day.
Prep led from the opening tip and were up 37-27 at the half. Tyrone Calloway led scoring with 24, and Luke Foley had 16 points. Luke Bennett had 15 points.
Calvary Day 61, Hilton Head Christian 44
Quinn Ryan scored 18 points, including five 3-pointers to lead HHCA in the loss.
Whale Branch boys, Bluffton girls in latest SCBCA polls
Whale Branch moved up and Bluffton girls entered the rankings for the first time as SC Basketball Coaches released their polls Thursday.
Whale Branch moved up one spot to No. 4 in Class 2A poll. The Warriors are 9-3.
Bluffton is ranked No. 10 in Class 4A. The Bobcats are 12-1 on the season.

Hilton Head Prep 46, Memorial Day 9
HHP scored the first 26 points of the game in the first quarter on its way to a win.
Gracie Henderson led the Dolphins with 10 points. Haylee Hopman and Kierstin Clark each had eight.
John Paul II 39, Coastal Home School 37
Bella Termini’s jumper with five seconds left gave the Warriors on Thursday.
Tkai Devore led JP II with 16 points, 11 rebounds and seven steals. Jasmine Hamilton and Abby Quinty each scored eight.
Hilton Head Christian 60, Calvary Day 58 (OT)
Dior Shelton and Brielle McCarthy each hit free throws with less than a minute left to help HHCA to an overtime win.
Shelton and Jasmine Campbell each had 15 points to lead the Eagles. Mary Yanker added 12 points and 10 rebounds and Skylar Smith had 10.
