BA’s Huebel sets milestone, Bluffton girls advance to tournament final

John Paul II jumped out to a big lead and never looked back defeating Colleton Prep in the Warriors’ region opener.
CJ Knight led the Warriors with 13 points and three steals. Mark Knight added 12 points and five assists and Jeremiah Young had 12 points and four steals.
Hilton Head Prep 49, Beaufort Academy 32
With Hilton Head Prep’s Stone McDonald, limited in action, the Dolphins turned to team defense to win the first region game of the year
The Dolphins’ Tyrone Callaway had 28 points to lead all scorers.

Bluffton 46, River Ridge (Fla.) 40
Eighth grader Tacoya Heyward scored 16 points as Bluffton advanced to the championship game of the B-Town Classic.Bluffton (10-1) faces Carver ( Ala.) on Saturday at 3 p.m. in the title game.
Beaufort Academy 43, Hilton Head Prep 34
Amelia Huebel set another milestone as BA won its region opener.
Huebel scored 19 points and 17 rebounds and went over 1,000 rebounds for her career. Earlier this season, she scored her 1,000th career point.
Tahleea Heyward added 12 points for BA and Emily Ann Hiers had eight.
John Paul II 44, Colleton Prep 28
After leading by just five at halftime, the Warriors took over in the second half for the win.
Tkai DeVore led the way with 19 points, 14 rebounds, seven assists, four blocks and five steals.
Jasmine Hamilton had 10 points. Jasmine Sanchez had one of her best games with eight points and nine rebounds.
