High school roundup: John Paul II, Beaufort Academy girls hoops cruise to victories
John Paul used a strong third quarter to defeat Andrew Jackson, 61-48, in girls high school basketball action Monday.
Tkai DeVore led the charge with 25 points, five rebounds, six assists and nine steals. Jasmine Hamilton added 12 points, three rebounds, and five assists.
Abby Quinty and Taylor Michael each had seven points. Katie Leigh Floyd had six assists and Caroline Gilmour pulled down six rebounds.
Beaufort Academy 55, Clarendon Hall 14
Beaufort Academy moved to 4-0 with a blowout victory.
Mike’Ala Washington scored 17 points and Amelia Huebel had 11 points and seven rebounds to lead BA.
Tahleea Heyward and EmilyAnn Hiers each scored eight points for BA.

John Paul II suffered its first loss on the road to Andrew Jackson.
Jeremiah Young led JPII with 20 points and four assists. Malone Kinard-Huisinger added 10 points and five rebounds.
Clarendon Hall 74, Beaufort Academy 25
The Eagles (3-1) suffered their first loss of the season to defending SCISA Class A champs.
Elijah Fess led BA with 10 points and Dawson Coleman had five.

Jeremiah Simmons (182), Brenden Glover (170), Colton Phares (160), Dominic Faircloth (132), and John Legree (195) all earned pins in their matches.
