Beaufort boys, John Paul II hoops, HHI wrestling pick up victories
The Beaufort boys basketball team bounced back after a loss to May River with a win over Summerville on Wednesday.
Ollie Holmes lead three Eagles in double figures with 20 points as they defeated Summerville, 68-55.
Rush Riley chipped in with 16 points and Jamaad Rivers had 15. Beaufort (2-2) hosts Battery Creek on Friday.
John Paul 62, Bridges Prep 26
The Warriors won their home opener Wednesday night.
Jeremiah Young led the way with 21 points and five assists and Mark Knight had 18 points, five steals. Colton Doran led Bridges with 12 points.
John Paul II hosts Habersham School on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Girls Basketball
Summerville 56, Beaufort 28
Layla Warren scored 11 points and Seqouia Smalls had seven in the loss for Beaufort.
John Paul II 57, Bridge Prep 4
Tkai DeVore and Taylor Michael led the way for John Paul II in the win over Bridges Prep.
DeVore had 18 points, eight rebounds and five assists while Michael had 12 points on 6-of-9 shooting. Bella Termini scored seven points and Jasmine Sanchez had six.

Hilton Head Island sweeps quad meet
The Hilton Head Island wrestling sweep its season-opening quad match on Wednesday.
The Seahawks defeated Academic Magnet, 57-18, Military Magnet, 66-18 and Battery Creek, 53-30.
