High school softball result: Whale Branch at Waccamaw Invitational

Whale Branch gets swept: Chyla Simmons’ two-run single provided one of the few highlights on a tough day all around for the Warriors at the Waccamaw Invitational tournament, suffering losses to Dixie and to Waccamaw.

The Warriors were no-hit victims in the opener, kept in check by Dixie’s Delanie Laudenbacher in an 18-0 decision. Nine errors proved critical in the second game, as Waccamaw cruised to a 19-4 victory.
