High school softball result: Battery Creek at Beaufort

Battery Creek 19, Beaufort 2: Two-run homers by Emily Crosby and Journeigh Doray were bookends to a 10-run sixth inning as the Dolphins broke out the offensive fireworks.

The Dolphins already led 9-2 when Crosby homered on a 1-2 pitch after Michaux Gee led off with a single. Battery Creek wound up sending 13 batters to the plate, with Doray’s shot to left field capping the scoring spree.

Savannah Mullen and Mary Claire Sumner each had two of Beaufort’s eight hits.
