High school baseball result: John Paul II at Hilton Head Christian

Hilton Head Christian 7, John Paul II 1: John Burke had two hits and scored three times as the Eagles scored in each of the first four innings.

Burke also scattered six JP2 hits over 4 1/3 innings on the mound, allowing only three runners to reach second base. John Blackshire went the rest of the way, and Dargan Cherry drove home two runs.

Mark Tigges collected three of the Golden Warriors’ seven hits.
