RBC Heritage adds 2 more top players, updates ticket availability. Here’s the latest news
With the RBC Heritage three weeks away, the tournament announced two additional major champions will be joining the field.
Clemson alum Lucas Glover of Greenville and world No. 8 Brian Harman of Savannah will tee it up at Harbour Town Golf Links for the 56th playing of the tournament. Glover is a former U.S. Open champion, and Harman currently holds the Claret Jug as the reigning Open champion from his six-stroke victory at last summer’s tournament at Royal Liverpool.
According to the RBC Heritage website, admission for Friday and Saturday’s rounds have sold out, but Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday tickets are still available.
Ticket manager Tyler Shutts said, “Tickets to the RBC Heritage will sell out. We are serious about giving our spectators and sponsors an enjoyable experience. We don’t want long lines and big crowds blocking access to watching great golf. Fans who missed out will still have the opportunity to visit Ticketmaster.com and buy on the resale market.”
The build out of the grounds including bleachers, tents and food venues are all nearing completion, and, even with this weekend’s weather, everything should be in place prior to tournament week.
New this year are wrap-around bleachers on the first tee that require no special ticket or pass for entry. These bleachers will hold 500 spectators and be open all days of the event.
This year’s event is included as one of the PGA Tour’s “signature events” which translates into a smaller but star-filled field of approximately 70 players, the absence of a Friday afternoon cut line and a purse of $20 million.
