The pivotal second day of the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing has concluded, with several top-tier pros heading home early.

This year’s field — the largest ever at Heritage due to its designated PGA Tour event status — proved its depth in a back-and-forth day, one that saw top-tier pros, mid-ranked golfers and dark horses all jockeying for the top spot. Surprise names like Aaron Rai and Jimmy Walker are in the mix alongside tour staples Jordan Spieth, Justin Rose and Viktor Hovland.

An elevated event status this year means more competitors got sent home before the weekend, however.

All golfers above or tied for -2 advanced into the weekend.

Here’s who missed the cut Friday:

6 p.m. Friday

Just 73 golfers remain above the cut in Heritage’s original field of over 140, and some notable pros are among those headed home early after failing to reach 2 under par cutoff score.

Davis Love III Heritage’s youngest-ever champion, five-time winner and an honorary chairman for the 2023 event ended his two rounds of play 6 over par, a bitter end at an event that has shaped much of his career.

World No. 7 Max Homa, one of the most well-known pros in this year’s expanded field, finished at 3 over par after two days of play.

After a hot start that lifted him as far as No. 4 on the tournament leaderboard, Joel Dahmen cooled off Friday afternoon. Dahmen shot 4 over par Friday, a dismal performance that dragged his tournament score down to 1 under par and left him below the cut line.

The Tour’s No. 20 ranked golfer, Kurt Kitayama, was all even after finishing his second round Friday. Just ahead of Kitayama in the overall PGA Tour standings, No. 19 Tom Kim also failed to advance, ending the day 1 under par.

Other high-ranked pros that won’t play into the weekend are No. 26 Billy Horschel and No. 27 Tom Hoge.

No. 2 world player Rory McIlroy is not in the field and withdrew from the tournament Monday.

The full list of golfers who missed the cut is available on ESPN.com.

4 p.m. Friday

With afternoon play nearing its end, 72 golfers are above the current 2 under par cut line.

Among the most notable pros likely to miss the cut are five-time Heritage winner Davis Love III and Max Homa, who’s currently ranked No. 7 on the PGA Tour.

South Carolina native Ben Martin is on the edge of weekend eligibility through seven holes. Martin sits at 1 under par.

Despite finishing in the top 10 Thursday, Joel Dahmen has fallen below the cut line. With five holes remaining in his second round, Dahmen is 1 under par overall and 4 over par on the day.

2:30 p.m. Friday

Several South Carolina natives finished their second round of play below the cut line Friday and will likely miss weekend play.

Columbia’s Wesley Bryan finished the day shooting even and tied for 97th place, ending the tournament 1 over par. Lucas Glover of Greenville continued to struggle as well, finishing Round 2 at 8 over par.

Representing North Augusta, South Carolina, Matthew NeSmith was tied for 97th at 1 over par as of 2:30. NeSmith has finished two holes in his second round.

Greenwood local Ben Martin teed off around the same time as NeSmith and is also tied for 97th place.

1 p.m. Friday

Golfers on the early slate are wrapping up their second round of play. The top of the leaderboard has seen repeated shakeups throughout the day, and several top-50 golfers are currently at risk of missing the cut.

The tour’s No. 36 ranked golfer, Austrian Sepp Straka, finished the second round shooting even. The par performance wasn’t enough to overcome his day one struggles, however, and he now rests 5 over par, tied for 133rd place.

Si Woo Kim, the No. 40 golfer on the PGA Tour, began his second round around 1 p.m. Kim shot 1 under par on day one and is shooting even through one hole, leaving him 1 under par on the tournament and tied for 68th place, just enough to make the cut but at risk should he play poorly this afternoon.

Shane Lowry, currently ranked No. 23 on the tour, is also on the razor’s edge. Like Kim, Lowry shot 1 under par through the first round. He teed off for round two at 1 p.m. as well.

Noon Friday

Five-time Heritage champion Davis Love III is set to tee off for his second round at 12:30 p.m. Love will have work to do after finishing 1 over par on Thursday and ending up near the bottom of the leaderboard, tied with several others for 100th place.

Several golfers off the early tees have finished their second round. As of 12 p.m., Thomas Detry, Adam Hadwin and Peter Malnati sit below the cut line with no holes left to play.

Mid-morning Friday

World No. 7 Max Homa struggled in Thursday’s first round, ending the day 2 over par and tied for 116th.

The early issues were uncharacteristic for Homa, especially this season. He’s yet to miss a cut this year, and won two events, the September Fortinet Championship and January’s Farmers Insurance Open. Homa also finished top 10 in 6 of the 11 events he’s played this year.

Homa will start his second round of play at 1 p.m.

Two-time Heritage champion Jim Furyk is in the same camp, also shooting 2 over par. Furyk won the tournament for the first time in 2010, and once more in 2015.

The tour’s No. 11 golfer, Collin Morikawa, is just above the cutline early. Morikawa is shooting 1 under par for the tournament but 2 under par through eight holes today, tied for 54th.
