Hole-in-one shootout qualifying starts Thursday at Old South Golf Links
Amateur golfers 18 and older are invited to compete for a chance at $1 million at the 14th annual hole-in-one shootout beginning Thursday at the Old South Golf Links.
The cost to compete is $1 per ball or $10 for a bag of 12 balls. Qualifying runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. From that group, 28 people will earn the chance to hit one shot at the grand-prize hole from 165 yards for men and 150 yards for women.
No advance registration is required. Other prizes, a putting contest and a silent auction, also are included. The event is sponsored by Palmetto Electric and Touchstone Energy.
