Lowcountry Golf Hall of Fame tickets on sale

Lowcountry Golf Hall of Fame

Tickets are now on sale for the Lowcountry Golf Hall of Fame’s second induction dinner April 2 at Hampton Hall, as Karen Ferree and Cary Corbitt officially become the eighth and ninth members of the fledgling shrine.

Bruce Devlin, an eight-time PGA Tour winner before undertaking a second career as a course designer, will be the featured speaker. Tickets are $125 per person, available via any South State Bank location in Beaufort County or by calling 843-816-0898.

Ferree, a winner of 17 state or Carolinas amateur titles, has compiled a wide-ranging portfolio that also includes serving as one of the first female head professionals at a major club and a long record of teaching and supporting junior golf.

Corbitt is in his 40th year at Sea Pines Resort, rising from staff professional to become head pro at Sea Pines Plantation GC and later director of golf for the resort's three courses. For the past 25 years, he has overseen Sea Pines’ sports and operations.

They will join a last year's inaugural class that includes Sea Pines founders Charles Fraser and Joseph Fraser Jr., golf writer Charles Price, Lowcountry professionals Jim Ferree — Karen’s husband — Mike Harmon and Tim Moss and decorated amateur Kevin King.
