Low Country Golf Hall of Fame taking nominations for 2nd class
Nominations are now being accepted for the second enshrinement class of the Low Country Golf Hall of Fame, which will add up to three names to its roster during ceremonies next spring.
Anyone can submit a nomination, which requires a letter describing the nominee's accomplishments along with two additional letters of recommendation. A five-man panel will review nominations and submit finalists to be considered by the full selection committee.
Nominations will be taken until the end of November, after which a list of finalists will be submitted to the selection committee for a December vote.
Candidates must receive 75 percent of the votes for election, though the hall limits inductees to no more than two in any year. The committee also holds the option to designate a third "lifetime achievement" candidate for addition.
This year's inaugural enshrinement class featured Charles Fraser, Joe Fraser, Charlie Price, Jim Ferree, Tim Moss, Mike Harmon and Kevin King.
Eighteen nominees from last year remain eligible for consideration, including Pete Dye, Doug Weaver, Karen Ferree and Cary Corbitt.
The Low Country Golf Hall of Fame is located in the Shops at Sea Pines Center, featuring artifacts and testimonials on the seven inaugural inductees. For more information, go online to LowCountryGolfHallofFame.com.
