Lowcountry duo falls just short of title at Tradition Four-Ball

Bluffton's Drew Weary and Hilton Head Island's Brandon McBride teamed for a share of second place at the SCJGA Tradition Four-Ball, finishing one stroke from forcing a playoff when they bogeyed Sunday's final hole in Taylors.

Inman's Jacob Bridgeman and Trent Phillips captured the title with a scorching 8-under-par 64 to overcome a four-shot deficit on Sunday. They finished with a two-day total of 10-under 134 at Pebble Creek Country Club.

Weary and McBride also stood at 10-under heading to the par-5 18th, but found trouble and could not save par to force extra holes. They wound up with a Sunday 69, leaving them tied with the tandem of Nick Willis (Cowpens) and Levi Moody (Greenville).

Rock Hill's Jodee Tindall and Lexington's Gracyn Burgess teamed to win the girls' division, three shots ahead of their nearest pursuers.
