USCB’s Kayla Boyle chosen for Sun Conference softball honors

USC-Beaufort outfielder Kayla Boyle has been selected for the Sun Conference’s weekly softball honors after another strong week in which she batted .500 and drove home six runs in the Sand Sharks’ sweep of four games.

The freshman went 6-for-12 with four doubles, including a seventh-inning sacrifice fly to score the winning run against Keiser and a three-RBI performance in the regular-season finale against St. Thomas. She now leads the Sand Sharks with 29 RBIs on the season.

The Sand Sharks (29-20) won their last five regular-season games to grab a share of second place in the Sun Conference standings. They will be the No. 3 seed at the league tournament next week outside Orlando.
