2 USCB athletes named Sun Conference’s Players of the Week

USC-Beaufort outfielder Thomas Estopare has been honored as the Sun Conference Player of the Week in baseball, while Taylor Superior received the league’s weekly honor in women’s track.

Estopare homered four times during USCB’s three-game sweep of Southeastern over the weekend, as the Sand Sharks locked up their first Sun Conference regular-season crown. Overall, the junior went 7-for-11 on the weekend with five walks, six RBIs and eight runs scored.

Superior shattered her own school record in the 400 meter hurdles, taking more than 2 seconds off the mark when she won the event at the Lowcountry Collegiate. Her time of 1:03.23 not only met the NAIA National Championships’ “A” qualifying standard, but also bested six NCAA Division I runners in the field.
