USCB postpones pair of weekend softball doubleheaders
A weekend of dismal weather forecasts in Georgia has prompted USCB’s softball team to lose a weekend of doubleheaders that would have kicked off its Sun Conference schedule.
The Sand Sharks were set to welcome Keiser University for a Saturday doubleheader and another Sunday against St. Thomas. Though showers are in the Lowcountry forecast this weekend, the real problem comes with the other half of the visitors’ trips.
The Florida schools also were scheduled to visit Thomas University, where three straight days of rain are forecast in Thomasville, Ga.
As a result, all four sets of doubleheaders were called off and rescheduled as single games April 23-24.
USCB now will face Keiser on April 23 for Senior Day, followed by St. Thomas a day later. The Sand Sharks’ next competition now waits until Tuesday, when Kentucky Christian visits for a doubleheader.
