USCB runner Douglas earns Sun Conference honor again

USC Beaufort runner Betsy Douglas continues to rack up awards, as the junior from Aiken was named the Sun Conference Runner of the Week on Monday for the third time in four weeks.

Douglas picked up the honor in voting by the league's sports information directors after winning for the third time in as many races Saturday at the Northeast 10 Preview Meet in Colchester, Vt. Douglas dominated the competition, as her 6K time of 22:07 was 31 seconds faster than the next competitor.

Douglas has not finished behind a non-NCAA Division I runner in any of her three races this season.

The Sand Sharks are back in action Oct. 9 at the Royals XC Challenge in Charlotte, N.C.
