ESPN experts mourn Michigan State upset on Twitter

Day two of the 2016 NCAA basketball tournament was a rough one for ESPN’s experts, nearly all of whom had Michigan State advancing to the Final Four.

The second seeded Spartans lost by nine to the Blue Raiders of Middle Tennessee Friday, 90-81.

18 of the 31 analysts surveyed for ESPN’s website picked Michigan State to win the big dance, and 30 predicted the Spartans would advance to the Final Four in Houston.

The only ‘expert’ to avoid Round of 64 humiliation? ESPN basketball commentator Cory Alexander. Alexander has Kansas, Oklahoma, North Carolina and Virginia in the Final Four, with Kansas finishing the year on top.
