Clemson moves up in College Football Playoff rankings
Clemson jumped up one spot to No. 3 in the College Football Playoff rankings after a dominant 56-7 win over South Carolina this past Saturday.
The Tigers can likely clinch a spot in the College Football Playoff with a victory over Virginia Tech in the ACC title game on Saturday.
Alabama remains No. 1, followed by Ohio State and Washington’s ranked No. 4.
If the rankings hold, Clemson and Ohio State will meet in Phoenix in a College Football Playoff semifinal with the winner playing the winner of Alabama and Washington in Tampa for the national title.
The rest of the top 10 includes Michigan, Wisconsin, Penn State, Colorado, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.

The College Football Playoff Selection Committee will issue weekly rankings each Tuesday, with the final rankings being announced Sunday, Dec. 4 (Noon). The playoff semifinals will match the No. 1 seed vs. the No. 4 seed, and No. 2 will face No. 3. The semifinals will be hosted at the Fiesta Bowl and Peach Bowl on Dec. 31, 2016. The championship game will be played on Jan. 9, 2017 at Tampa, Fla.
