Former Seahawk named to juco all-region baseball team

USC Sumter outfielder Dillon Heffner, a former Hilton Head Island High standout, was named to the NJCAA’s All-Region team for the division encompassing the Carolinas and Virginia.

The sophomore compiled a .372 batting average and .526 on-base percentage this season as the Fire Ants finished one game behind Spartanburg Methodist for the regular-season title. USC Sumter dropped a pair of one-run games in the region tournament, ending its bid for a return trip to the NJCAA World Series in Colorado.
