South Carolina football lands running back commit from Big Ten powerhouse
South Carolina football has landed its first running back commitment from the transfer portal.
Ohio State sophomore running back Sam Williams-Dixon committed to the Gamecocks, according to multiple reports. Dixon was on a visit to South Carolina on Friday.
It is the second straight year USC has gotten a commitment from a former Ohio State player. QB Air Noland played last season with Gamecocks but has entered the transfer portal.
Williams-Dixon will have three years of eligibility left.
Williams-Dixon had just 10 carries for 62 yards and a TD in his two years at Ohio State.
Williams-Dixon was a three-star prospect in high school and played his final year at Pickerington North in Ohio.
The Gamecocks have a new running backs coach in Penn State’s Stan Drayton. USC current running back consists of soon-to-be redshirt juniors Isaiah Augustave and Jawarn Howell, as well as redshirt sophomore Matthew Fuller.
