Shane Beamer isn’t the only person getting a pay raise.

The South Carolina board of trustees approved amendments for five Gamecocks assistant coaches on Friday.

Coaches Clayton White (defensive coordinator), Torrian Gray (defensive backs), Jimmy Lindsey (defensive line), Sterling Lucas (defensive ends) and Montario Hardesty (running backs) all received raises and extensions on their existing deals.

White, who was made the lone million dollar earner on the staff outside Shane Beamer last year, saw his pay bumped from $1.1 million to $1.2 million and a one-year extension through Dec. 31, 2025.

Gray was entering the final year of a three-year deal with built-in escalators that raised his pay from $350,000 his first year on staff in 2021 to $500,000 this year. His new contract will be a two-year deal that pays $675,000 in Year 1 and $700,000 in Year 2, making him the highest-paid non-coordinator on the staff.

The former Virginia Tech defensive back had been rumored to be a candidate for the cornerbacks opening at Florida State but appears likely to stay at South Carolina.

Lindsey and Lucas each received six-figure raises from their past deals, along with one-year extensions. Lindsey’s pay was bumped up from $375,000 to $475,000, while Lucas’ pay was upped from $350,000 to $475,000.

Hardesty’s pay was upped from $350,000 to $400,000 annually under the terms of his previous extension that was approved last offseason.

South Carolina also announced a massive raise for Beamer on Friday that will bring his salary to $6.125 million during the 2023 season and climb to $7.125 million in 2027, the final year of the deal.

USC finished the 2022 regular season 8-5 with a loss to No. 21 Notre Dame in he Gator Bowl last week. South Carolina did cap the regular season with back-to-back top 10 wins over No. 5 Tennessee and No. 8 Clemson, the first such occurrence in school history.
