Updates on several injured Gamecocks and their recovery schedules

South Carolina football won’t again take the field until late February.

And the Gamecocks still have several players who are on the mend.

At least four USC players were lost for the year or at the very least needed surgery for injuries of note. Gamecocks coach Will Muschamp updated the status of those players on Monday at a press conference to introduce new offensive coordinator Mike Bobo.

Safety Jaylin Dickerson, who was lost in the summer to a hip issue, is expected to be cleared for spring practice.

Both tight end Nick Muse (torn ACL) and quarterback Ryan Hilinski (meniscus scope) had their procedures and they went will.

Defensive lineman Devontae Davis, who was lost in the preseason to a Lisfranc injury in AUgust, is expected to be cleared for spring. He will possibly be limited in the offseason program.

▪ Former walk-on linebacker Spencer Eason-Riddle will delay surgery for a torn ACL until Jan. 6. He’ll be going there as part of the Allstate AFCA Good Works Team for his charitable work.
