As bowl season nears, Clemson projected to land in Florida for its final game
Most predictions point to Clemson heading to the Sunshine State for its bowl game.
CBS Sports, Pro Football Network and ESPN’s Kyle Bonagura all project the Tigers will go to the Cheez-it Bowl on Dec. 29 at the Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida to end the year. From there, opponents vary. CBS Sports, Bonagura and Pro Football Network have the Tigers meeting up with Iowa State. Clemson has never played the Cyclones before.
The Athletic, Athlon Sports and Action Network put Clemson in the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville on Dec. 31. The official bowl game matchups will be released on Sunday afternoon.
For the first time since 2014, the Tigers won’t appear in the College Football Playoff. They haven’t missed a bowl game since 2004, which was the only absence in the last 27 years.
Clemson ended the year with a 9-3 record, missing out on a seventh consecutive ACC championship with a third-place finish in the conference. The squad also ended the year on a five-game winning streak after starting the year with a 2-2 record.
