Clemson star receiver Justyn Ross on crutches after leaving UConn game with leg injury
Clemson wide receiver Justyn Ross limped out of the Tigers’ game against UConn on Saturday.
After making a 25-yard grab during the opening quarter, the redshirt junior limped out of the game and was taken to the locker room with an apparent left leg injury. At the time of his departure Saturday, Ross had made three catches for 40 yards.
Ross returned to the sideline on crutches and with his left foot in a boot with 8 minutes left in the second quarter.
Clemson (6-3) led the game 20-7 in the second quarter. Ross entered the contest as Clemson’s leading receiver with 474 yards and three touchdowns on 43 receptions.

Will Swinney is Clemson’s holder on field goal tries. On Saturday, the senior receiver found the end zone on a fake field goal attempt where he scampered six yards for the score.
UConn returns opening kickoff for touchdown
UConn freshman running back Brian Brewton returned the game’s opening kickoff 99 yards for a touchdown. Brewton initially didn’t field the ball, then gathered himself and took off for the long score.
