NC State football gets commitment from big defensive end, 35th-ranked player in state
Zyun Reeves hasn’t been playing football long, but he made enough of an impact to help lead East Forsyth to its second straight state title last fall.
N.C. State hopes his development continues to tread in the right direction and he’ll end up being an All-ACC type performer.
Reeves (6-7, 245), the two-sport star for the Eagles, verbally committed to the Wolfpack on Friday, a big-time coup for Dave Doeren and his staff. Reeves picked N.C. State over Florida State, Michigan State, Virginia and South Carolina.
The rising senior is listed as a three-star recruit on 247Sports and the No. 35-ranked player in the state. He is the No. 40 defensive end in the country.
As a junior Reeves finished with 88 tackles (46 solo) and 7.5 sacks. He also finished with 13.5 tackles for loss. Reeves was highly productive, with two games in 2019 when he had at least 10 tackles. He had three more games when he had at least nine stops.
Doeren’s class of 2021 is now up to 18 players, with 10 of them being in-state prospects. The class is currently ranked No. 7 in the ACC.
