Duke basketball’s Joey Baker won’t play against Clemson
No. 3 Duke will be without sophomore reserve Joey Baker for Tuesday night’s ACC game at Clemson.
The 6-7 sophomore suffered a sprained right ankle in practice and will not be available for the 7 p.m. game at Clemson’s Littlejohn Coliseum, according to a team press release.
Baker, who’s status is considered day-to-day, is averaging 6.9 points per game this season, having made 48.1 percent of his shots while playing 16 games with two starts. He’s one of Duke’s top 3-point shooters, having made 43.5 percent of his shots from behind the arc.
Baker’s absence further cuts into Duke’s depth on the perimeter. The Blue Devils (15-1, 5-0 ACC) have played their last two games without 6-6 freshman Wendell Moore, who is out with a broken bone in his right hand. No timetable has been announced for a return for Moore, who had surgery to repair the injury on Jan. 6.
