Nick Wright Owns Up To 'Worst' NBA Finals Prediction of All-Time
Nick Wright is a rising star in the world of sports media.
Wright and his "First Things First" show on Fox Sports 1 are consistently getting a lot of praise - and deservedly so. It's arguably the best sports show on television right now, better than anything airing on ESPN, according to some critics.
But predictions might not be their forte.
Wright is owning up to what many are calling the "worst NBA Finals prediction of all-time" as the NBA Playoffs continue on Sunday.
Wright's NBA Finals prediction:
- Boston Celtics over Denver Nuggets in 7 games
Both the Celtics and the Nuggets were eliminated in the first round. The Celtics fell to the Sixers in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Saturday night. Meanwhile, the Nuggets fell in Round 1 to the Timberwolves.
Wright is owning up to it, at least.
"People are calling it the worst NBA Finals prediction of all time… and I'm not sure they're wrong. Everyone about this picture is just a disaster!" he wrote.
Wright owning up to it is what makes him likable
It can be rare for some prominent figures in sports media to just flat-out admit that they were wrong.
But Wright is not one of them.
The Fox Sports 1 star has no problem poking fun at himself when he gets something as wrong as he did like the NBA Playoffs this year. Wright can often be spot on with his takes, but this time, he missed the mark.
And that's OK.
