Latest update from the National Hurricane Center on Category 4 Hurricane Kirk for Friday, Oct 4

As per the National Hurricane Center's 5 am Friday update, Category 4 Hurricane Kirk is 1010 miles east-northeast of the Northern Leeward Islands and 1655 miles southwest of the Azores, with maximum sustained wind of 145 mph. It’s moving 10 mph to the northwest.
"Weakening is forecast to begin on Saturday and continue through early next week." according to meteorologists.
YESTERDAY (Thursday):
Yesterday, Kirk reached new heights of intensity and was upgraded from a Category 3 hurricane into a Category 4 hurricane, with winds blowing at 145 miles per hour.
HAZARDS AFFECTING LAND:
SURF: Swells generated by Kirk are spreading westward and are expected to reach the Leeward Islands later today, Bermuda and the Greater Antilles on Saturday, the east coast of the United States, Atlantic Canada, and the Bahamas on Sunday, and the Azores on Monday. These swells are likely to cause life-threatening surf and rip current conditions.
