Rants & Raves: Honey Horn, CJ, Trump
On the potential of Honey Horn being the site of a Hilton Head arts campus:
People come to Hilton Head because of what it is, or was. If they want to go to an amusement park, concrete jungle, shopping mall, university town, or tenement, they can go other places. And they do. That is not our competition. We should be focused on keeping Hilton Head Island the jewel that it is, not a cheap tourist trap.
Susan H Schilder
Completely agree.
Tracey Austin Nadeau
Enough with the out of control development already — especially at taxpayers’ expense! Our current “Arts Center” can’t sustain itself, but our elected officials think if they build an even bigger one that more people will come? Who comes up with this logic? If they build a bigger one it will only cost taxpayers more $$. If people want to see a concert, go to Savannah. It is not needed here.
Terry Wright
Let Honey Horn remain the natural beauty that it is! I remember cutting hay there with Scott Moody and his dad back in the day. I agree that we have no need for a new arts center when the one we have can’t support itself.
George Dixon
Definitely should be off limits. We have now reached a stage of development in the island that our leaders seem to think it won’t be complete unless we pave everything.
John Dreyer
Sorry, love the arts but Honey Horn should stay as it is! No building.
Tonya Murray Russell
Why don’t they name Honey Horn a historic site, so no one can build any crap on it?
Mike Ryan
There you go! Problem solved!
Debbie Hiott
Stop the development on HHI! I was fortunate enough to discover HHI just 7 years ago. We now visit twice a year to escape the Houston city mess. It seems as if some are trying desperately to to turn this beautiful place into just another ugly city. What’s next? Maybe a six-lane causeway to Daufuskie Island? A motor speedway in Bluffton?
Betty Crowe Sperry
Honestly the entire island should be off limits for this waste of taxpayer dollars. What a joke.
Leopold Stotch
Keep Honey Horn as it is.
Carolyn Tripp
Let it be! Leave Honey Horn alone!
Debbie Hiott
Agree! I live in Bluffton wish the building would stop here!
Mary Howald Gauvin
I can’t believe it needed to be said!
Shannon Mason Kline
Leave it be.
Mike Cruikshank
I couldn’t agree more. Off limits. Period.
Nancy Mattison
On Beaufort’s CJ Cummings being denied a spot at the 2016 Olympics:
He’ll only get bigger and stronger over the next 4 years. His mama sure is doing something right.
Evan Stiner
Think how awesome he will be in 4 years!
Laurie Easton
Continue the hard work and you will get 180 in four years. You can do it.
Lucy Adams Longwell
Be proud of your accomplishments, young man!
Gary Guldner
Proud of you, CJ! You are so good at this but so good at so many other things too because you are a hard worker.
Caitlin Johnson
Great job anyway.
Jonathon Hanson
Proud of you!
James Still
Great job, CJ!
Kristi Hartman
On a poll that suggested more Americans like Nickelback than Donald Trump:
Nobody likes Hillary either. Where’s that poll? In fact, there was a poll in West Virginia that asked Bernie supporters who they would vote for if Bernie doesn’t get the nomination and nearly half the respondents said they would vote for Trump over Hillary. Even a lot of Democrats hate Hillary, but the media doesn’t want to talk about that. They just want to point fingers at Trump. This is our corrupt, in the tank for liberals, MSM at work folks.
Terry Wright
OK? 1,200 people in North Carolina were polled, and some of them don’t like him? (They don’t give a number). So regardless of political affiliation there’s plenty of people that would say the same about Hillary Clinton and some that might even say the same about Bernie Sanders. Stupid poll.
