Rants & Raves: Nude photos, ‘Idol,’ Nikki Haley

On a South Carolina teacher who was forced to resign after a student captured nude photos from her phone and shared them:

Was this the first time she did this? Irresponsible for sure, also really stupid. Why is it necessary to put nude photos on your phone? She doesn’t get much sympathy from me. The student also needs a reprimand.

Interesting what we’re teaching the students. Protecting your own privacy is your responsibility, but respecting the privacy of others isn’t. Making it her sole responsibility tells the students that it is OK to go through any door that isn’t locked, and to take anything that isn’t locked away or chained down. How about trying to teach them some moral responsibility and to respect the rights and privacy of others?

I can’t deal. It was her phone! If parents would raise their kids not to touch something that doesn’t belong to them then it wouldn’t got that far.

It’s a sad situation. The student disrespected someone else’s, an authoritative figure’s, personal property. And the ones who shared that picture afterward also showed disrespect. I feel bad for the teacher and her family. I only wish her the best in her next new venture, which will be better than the one she left behind.

She should have locked her phone. She is irresponsible. Do not hire her back.

Teachers should be held at a higher standard to be an authority to our children. She was not proactive in protecting her privacy after taking nude photos. Now she wants to cry about her privacy. Your cell phone should be in your car. Most classrooms have access to a land line.

The student needs to be arrested.

She has a right to have whatever she wants in her phone as long as she’s not breaking any laws, which she wasn’t which he did. The brat shouldn’t touch what doesn’t belong to him.

On S.C. Gov. Nikki Haley saying Donald Trump would not be the GOP presidential nominee:

This locks it up for Trump!! That woman is wrong on everything she does. At least since she sold out to the RNC.

Then he will just run independent, then you can guarantee a Republican won’t be in the WH. Pick your battles wisely.

As much as I love you, Nikki, I think you are wrong. Trump will go to the convention without a majority of delegates, but after the first ballot will announce Cruz as VP and that puts them over the top. Worse of all, he and Cruz will win. When does the bus leave for Canada?

Sorry Nikki — your cabinet appointment from Rubio is not in the future. S.C. didn’t buy it and even our neighbors Georgia didn’t either. You backed the wrong pony (pun intended) in the horse race.

She’s upset because she picked wrong candidate to get her VP ride.

Doesn’t she remember her state chose him? Can’t wait to vote her out!

I think he is scaring many people.
