Rants & Raves: Children, crime and cable
On a St. Helena woman who pleaded guilty in the death of a 2-year-old child:
She wanted a man, but not the child who came with it. Now she gets prison walls for her selfish choices.
Jody Chilton
17 years for killing a child.
Debi Gresham
Such a sad story.
Crystal Everett
Awful!
Brittany Fedor Stubbs
On Hargray raising its cable and Internet rates:
Maybe they can now afford to get me a modem I don’t have to “reboot” every two days.
Chris Fore
Netflix and Hulu was the way to go in my house three years ago, and it isn’t changing. No cable is better when you have kids. It seems that I have more control of what they watch and for how long without extra fees for that feature.
Lorena Pina
What I’m more upset about is that we’re forced to use Hargray for Internet. Allow someone else to come in and give us choices like everyone else!
Beckie Bursey
May finally be time to cut the cable.
Alissa Murrie
If you haven’t heard of SLING TV, check it out. Only $20/month and you can stream live TV. Even sports channels. We cut our cable after the last rate hike and have not missed it at all. Also, if you purchase a long range antenna (got mine from Amazon), you can pick up the local stations like ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, and PBS. They come in clear as day if you’ve got it pointed the right direction.
Jennifer Decker
Cut the cable, people!
Amy Middlebrooks Tapley
All those channels and there is still nothing good on to watch. Especially during the day.
Shirley Bradham Woods
Does anyone use Uverse with AT&T? I’m looking for alternatives.

On three Bluffton children who were lost in the woods for six hours:
Kids are kids. It’s not their fault or their parents’ fault. We played outside and in the woods and all over and went all over the place. That little girl was very very smart on what she did to protect the two youngest and she did a fantastic job!
Natasha Jerry Gosselin
Super excited they’re safe and home. Let’s leave the finger pointing aside people. Better to appreciate that there is a happy outcome than to have to eat your own words one day. Especially with wonders as unpredictable as children.
Ana Ramirez
My friend Katie and I walked for hours to try to help find these kids. I am so thankful the kids are alive and safe and that’s all I am going to say.
Suzanne Galbreath
Glad they are okay! I had to install chains on the top of my doors because my six little boys try to escape to go play outside! Kids love to be outside and explore! Don’t be so judgemental, everyone!
Lauren Ruth
Bless their little hearts. Hearing about how the oldest “took charge” literally brought tears to my eyes. They must have been so scared. So glad it had a happy ending. Kudos to all the LEOs and BTFD and the community for coming together quickly.
