Rants & Raves: Readers react to Hilton Head boy's leukemia battle, RV park claims
It is a super ignorant comment, but I sure do wish they would consider the possibility of splitting the acreage into several large residential lots. Doesn't have to be cookie cutter Bluffton, but it would be nice to find some land around here outside of a neighborhood that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Emily Paul
Our family used to own an RV park for many years, and some of the nicest people that you could ever meet enjoy RVing. Tyna Graven Couch
Lady, you are goofy. At the best you are thinking about an old-fashioned trailer park that was permitted to go to seed, and at the worse your are just ignorant. I suggest you come to Hilton Head and look at the$1 million RVs, and the landscaping and amenities in a RV park that was built years ago that make your home look like garbage. Joseph C. Jacobs
Mrs. Anderson, as an RV owner who also happens to have two small children who I would never put in danger, I would like to tell you that you could possibly be one of the biggest morons on this earth. Allison Cooley Alberts
Wow. Fight it on the fact that increased pollution will cause a strain on septic or other infrastructure, as well as air quality or other real concerns. But, pedophiles? You should therefore ban schools, the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts and Catholic churches under this analogy. Bea Jones
How on earth did someone this bigoted ... end up on a school board? If you are going to spout this garbage, at least do some research first, you might be surprised to find out where pedophiles actually like to be. Judy Serin
I think it's a problem that some of these school board members are being elected by write-in. What you get are people who couldn't figure out how to get on a ballot suddenly running a school district.Steven Morello
She should be ashamed of herself. What about building the community and economy, tourists coming through the Lowcountry in the summer months. I truly hope it passes and she can't do anything. Toni Pribek Chirico
On alleged misuse of funds in Jasper County schools:
Such a surprise, Jasper County. *rolling eyesKeenan Denile
This story broke Jan. 3. It is now Jan. 14 and no explanation has been given and the case has not been turned over to law enforcement. I would hate to accuse anyone of not acting in a timely manner, but the facts speak for themselves. I would like to know whose close friend or relative the unnamed employee is because that's how things roll in both Beaufort and Jasper counties. Sheri Brown
Hope no one is holding their breath for anyone to be held accountable for anything. Amanda Denise
On reaction to Gov. Nikki Haley's GOP response to the State of the Union address:
She spoke her truth, let her stand in it. I think South Carolinians should be proud! She's clearly open minded and bi-partisan. Thank you Gov. Haley for thinking and speaking from your truth! Maria Roberts
I am not the greatest Haley fan, but all Democrats should be embarrassed by the leader of the Democratic Party's comments. Terry Bennett
She's an ignoramus! Felicia Harley Simmons
Removing the Confederate flag was a knee-jerk sign of political correctness. We just don't need PC leadership any longer. Sorry to all the Nikki lovers, but it's the facts. Larry Foley
Accept federal money for Medicaid, governor, so it doesn't go to other states! Fix our roads, and more money for schools! Gloria Galun Weissman
On a Hilton Head boy battling leukemia for a second time:
Prayers for this strong, strong boy! Alexandra Marx
Sweet boy, God is watching over you. Kathie Cofall
May God's loving hand heal and give you the help you need to make you well. Judy Anderson
