Liz’s Notebook: Extras sought for music video on Hilton Head Island
Musician Jevon Daly has put out a casting call for a music video that will be shot at 6 p.m. March 26 at Mitchelville Beach Park on Hilton Head Island.
The song, “MUDD,” written by Daly and Gary Pratt — both of Low Country Boil, Silicone Sister and JoJo Squirrell and the Home Pickles — harkens to the Ogeechee River train wreck that killed 40 people at a swimming hole in Effingham County, Ga., in 1959.
Anyone interested in taking part in the video should come to the park between 5:30 and 6 p.m. Participants must be willing to get dirty and are asked to wear overalls, bathing suits or bikinis with a 1950s style.
The video will be produced by Jessie Renew of Biz Bee Studios in Bluffton and directed by artist Colin Noonan of Hilton Head Island.
“We’re trying to capture something that we can’t do live,” Daly said. “It’s a side project. I’m sort of fishing around for another style of music ... (it’s) another side of what I’m doing (artistically).”
