At first glance, your editorial cartoon on Aug. 8 depicting Donald Trump in a psychiatric facility might amuse or irritate your readers, depending on their political leanings.
Unfortunately, it lumps Trump with people who do have a mental illness and already have to deal with the stigma of the disease. Narcissism is a personality disorder, not a mental illness.
And by the way, straight jackets are not typically used in psychiatric facilities.
Anyone interested in learning about the symptoms, treatment options, and resources for persons with mental illness should check out the NAMI (National Alliance for Mental Illness) website.
