Letter: Let experience inform study of arts venue
Before spending a lot of money on consultants, those examining the idea of a new performing arts facility on Hilton Head Island should talk to Gregg Russell.
If you have been around for a while, you may remember that Gregg organized a series of performances and concerts that were held at the Sea Pines Racquet Club stadium. They were not repeated. I’m sure Gregg can tell you why and can suggest some avenues to explore and potential pitfalls. My recollection is that they were mostly well attended, so it would be logical to conclude either profitability or venue size was a problem.
