Letter: Media inflames violence toward police
Five police officers are dead in one incident. Several more are injured across the country in separate attacks. Why?
Overzealous, inept, sensationalized media reporting is one reason. That and one incredibly stupid liberal Minnesota governor and an equally stupid New York City mayor making asinine and inflammatory statements that the media outlets were all too eager to report and force feed to an already inflamed public.
Five police officers are dead. One crazy individual took that reporting to heart and decided they must die. They were white, and they were cops, ergo they are racists.
Five police officers are dead because selling newspapers or being on air first trumps being right or accurate. Philando Castile (in the Minnesota shooting) was in fact a robbery suspect. There was ample reasonable cause for him to be stopped. He had/has no concealed carry permit and he failed to follow directions of the officer. The narrative and video pushed by his grieving girlfriend (sarcasm) and eaten up by reporters is false.
Each police officer/black shooting case being tried in the media nationwide have one common thread, the “victims” all were the architects of their own demise. Five police officers are dead. Who are you going to turn to when the rest decide it’s just not worth it? RIP my brothers.
